Spicy Lentil Beef Burger

lentil burger, burger recipe, canadian cuisine, Canada recipe, canada food• 500 g (1/2 lb) lean ground beef
• 2 garlic cloves
• 1 Tbsp (15 mL) honey
• 1/4 tsp (1 mL) ginger
• 1 cup (250 mL) cooked lentils
• 2 Tbsp (30 mL) soy sauce, reduced sodium
• 1 egg
• 10 sprigs parsley or cilantro, chopped
• 2 green onions, chopped
• 1/2 cup (125 mL) bread crumbs

Put all ingredients except for bread crumbs into a food processor and pulse until well blended. Transfer mixture into medium bowl and mix in bread crumbs with a spatula.
Form into 6 equal patties.
Spray pan or grill lightly with non-stick spray and cook patties for about 5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through. Serve with your favourite buns and hamburger toppings!

Makes 6 patties.
